CAP 1000/2000
High Shear Rate Viscometers
The CAP Viscometer was originally designed to provide a high shear rate test for paints and coatings that simulates material behavior in rolling, brushing, and spraying applications. The versatility of the CAP design makes it a practical tool for any QC or R&D lab requiring quick easy testing of materials, regardless, of application, at high shear rates.
Applications include paints, resins, foods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, dispersions, coatings, and inks.
- Shear rates from 166 sec-1 to 26,600 sec-1
- Variable shear rate (CAP 2000)
- Cone and plate geometry
- Small sample size (less than 1 ml)
- Automatic cone gap positioning
- Automatic viscosity range calibration
- Rapid sample temperature control on plate surface
- Digital settings and display (CGS or SI units)
- PC control with RS-232 serial interface (CAP 2000) using Brookfield Capcalc software
- Parallel printer interface to document data
- Timed test capability
- Sample number identification
- Easy test set up and clean up
- Rapid test performance
- Two temperature ranges: 5°C to 75°C OR 50°C to 200°C
- NIST traceable viscosity standards available
- Choice of one cone spindle supplied with viscometer (extras available)
CAP1000 is a single speed viscometer:
- 900 rpm at 60 Hz or 750 rpm at 50 Hz
CAP2000 is a variable speed viscometer:
- 50 to 2000 rpm in 1 rpm steps
